This is vital in establishing the goals of treatment, technique selection and future management. This process typically takes between 15 - 30 minutes depending on complexity of the problem and is broken into questioning and an objective tests.

During objective testing, we may observe movement and perform specific tests. You may be asked to remove clothing for clear observation, but there are always gowns, shorts or towels for discrete covering.

At the end of the assessment, the Physiotherapist will discuss their findings and offer a diagnosis with expected timeframes for healing, inform you of treatment options and future management.

If any of this is unclear, we encourage you to ask further questions.

3. Treatment techniques

Just as the mechanic has a variety of tools for differing applications, so too does the Physiotherapist. Selection is determined by an accurate assessment of the structures involved and the level of irritability.

Here is an overview of the different tools that we have at our disposal:

Massage Mobilisation
Manipulation/Adjustment Acupuncture
Electrotherapy Exercises/Stretches
